The cost of camp rises each year. It is only because of YOU that we can invite children from all over the diocese to attend.
How do your financial contributions help?
In 2016 we had over a dozen campers from Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids. These children are all either immigrants themselves or children of immigrants - the Lost Boys of Sudan. Because of donations from around the Diocese they were thrilled to experience a "traditional American summer" with hot dogs, campfires, and sleeping in cabins.
In western Michigan we have many families who make enough money to feed their families and buy clothes, but nothing left over for special activities, like summer camp. Our small rural parishes help out where they can, but that isn't always enough. Grants, volunteers, and your donations help give these children a week at camp. The children play, swim, sing, and worship while living in a loving Christian community.
Thank you for your ministry - thank you for your support!
As the Diocese is a registered non-profit organization, you can receive a form for tax deduction upon request.
Join us in Prayer
God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
