The Episcopal Youth Camp is a coed summer camp that strives to develop a Community that's sacrificial, restorative, and spirit filled. We hope to provide opportunity for spiritual growth and leadership development to the staff and through that to the campers and entire diocesan community.
O God, source of faith, home, and love: Bless the members of the staff, who labor with their hands, minds, and hearts for the benefit of our community. Give them strength to perform their daily duties to the best of their ability, and grand them the courage to persevere under whatever circumstances life may bring. And when the day is over and their work has ceased, may they finally find rest and find strength in you. Amen.

Who are the volunteers of the Episcopal Youth Camp?

Our volunteers are AWESOME!
We have clergy, teachers, parents, retirees, nurses, stay-at-home moms, lawyers, accountants and college students. Our oldest counselor is 80 (something) and the youngest is 18 or a high school graduate. The common thread is that they all give a week or two to the service of God and the care and feeding of the young people in our diocese!

Our staff are volunteers.
Our Staff are entirely unpaid volunteers and we have a wide range of ages and experiences. This is intentional. Most of the ministry of the church is volunteer, and we see ourselves as doing God’s work. Most are not trained in theology, but they are open with the children about their own personal walks with God.

Our volunteer staff are all ages of adults.
We intentionally have a wide age range. We love having the energy and enthusiasm of young adults, and like how they are close in age to the campers. But we also want the experience and expertise that the older adults may bring. These older adults can model what it means to be an adult Christian and Episcopalian. They set the example of what these children can aspire to. Having a wide range also helps more honestly show the kingdom of God - with all of our differences. Currently in our culture there are very few places where people can interact on a multi-generational level, we are proud that this is one of those places!
