Outreach & Worship
Worship
The worship life of camp is very important in our community life and we offer a variety of worship opportunities.  We celebrate Holy Eucharist every day using a variety of liturgical forms (informal and formal) in various locations and times – the campers take part in the planning and the presentations.  We use services from the Book of Common Prayer along with open prayer time and much singing. It is our practice to offer the bread and wine to all present at the liturgy.

At the time of registration, please let either the Camp Spiritual Director or the Camp Director know if you would prefer your child to receive a blessing rather than the bread and wine.

Outreach
As you may know, whenever we gather with young people in our Diocese we do something to give back to God, and to give to others.
Please have your camper go with you when you purchase these items: Helping you select and purchase and pack them will help your camper have a deeper understanding of our outreach lessons at camp. You could also have your campers invite your parish to help-encourage your youth to make signs or announcements.

  • Six adhesive bandages
  • Two 3-by-3-inch sterile gauze pads
  • One small roll of adhesive tape
  • One small bar of soap or travel-size bottle of hand sanitizer

2015 Outreach
In 2015 we collected children's books for reading programs throughout the Diocese. Campers and staff alike brought hundreds of their favorite books from childhood to share with others. They were given to The Diocesan Reading Camp (click here to go to their webpage), Read Muskegon (click here to read their thank you letter) and a public school in an impoverished part of the rural lakeshore.
Thank you all who participated in bringing books and sharing your love of reading!
