WE ARE:

• Following guidelines of the CDC and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services

• Requiring a pre-camp screening for all campers/staff

• Providing rapid COVID testing at check in and screeing for any potential symptoms

• Checking temperature of all participants daily

• Requiring all participants have a temperature below 99.4 degrees

• Creating one pod where we are all in this together and stay in the "bubble" of camp

• Creating a program designed around outdoor spaces, and limiting time spent indoors

• Increasing sanitization protocols

• Program spaces/equipment will be sanitized between each use

• Creating fun and meaningful programming for our campers/staff

• Monitoring this rapidly evolving situation

• Being transparent on decisions

TOP TEN SUMMER TAKE-A-WAYS FOR EYC - CAMP

Camp will be different this summer, but it will still be camp. We know that changes to the camp program cause anxiety, and we hope to eliminate some of this anxiety by outlining some of the differences you can expect this summer.

1.  YOU STILL GET TO SLEEP IN CABINS AND ENJOY NATURE!

​

2.  YOU WILL STILL BE WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS

As long as campers complete the pre-camp steps and we stay in our "Camp Bubble," you will be able to hang out with your old camp friends and meet new friends regardless of what cabin they are in.

​

3. YOU WILL STILL ENJOY EATING TOGETHER

In 2021, expect expanded dining locations (indoors and outdoors). You will sit with your cabin, just as in past camps.  Meals will be served family style, just like in past camps. There will still be dessert! The food will still be delicious.

4. YOU CAN STILL JUMP OFF HIGH DOCK or KAYAK or PADDLE BOARD or PLAY IN THE SAND

You will still have opportunities to swim several times during the week! You will still check in at the buddy board, and we will still have the boater’s triangle.

5. YOU WILL GET TO EXPERIENCE MORE CAMP ACTIVITIES THAN EVER BEFORE

In other summers, you would plan to sign up for two activities a day plus the evening activity! We are adding new and fun activities this year including overnight tent camping for senior camp! Tubing for 6th graders, boat tubing, ropes courses, and more!

6. YOU CAN STILL PLAY CAPTURE THE FLAG & OTHER EVENING ACTIVITIES YOU LOVE

Evening Programs you have come to love and look forward to will happen. Gold Rush, Harry Potter Themes, Battle of the Bands, Capture the Flag, Carnival Games, and more. This summer will give us a chance to try new programs  – so get ready for new group activities!

7.  YOU WILL STILL HAVE GAGA, MAKE FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS, RELAX IN THE HAMMOCKS

We can still do fun activities like play GAGA or find a quiet place surrounded by nature to sit and make friendship bracelets with your camp friends.  We can still enjoy listening to the birds sing while relaxing inthe hammocks.

8. YOU CAN STILL BE A COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT)

Campers who will be going into Junior or Senior year, can sign up to be a CIT for the Junior Camp Week!  This gives you a second week of camp and a wonderful oppotunity for leadership skills.

9. WE WILL STILL HAVE A FRIDAY EVENING SPECIAL DINNER AND MUSIC

We will have a theme night dinner and music. No need to bring fancy clothes! This will be casual, inclusive, and stress free fun.

10. TRADITIONS – CONSTANT & TRUE

We are adding some new traditions and keeping the tried and true old ones.  We will still have our closing circle Friday night, we will still sign the parachute, we will still do cabin photos, we will still have the Cleanest Cabin Piglet, and more!
