A prayer to send off the Campers

God of the guiding star, the bush that blazes
SHOW US YOUR WAY

God of the stormy seas, the bread that nourishes
TEACH US YOUR TRUTH

God of the still, small voice, the wind that blows where it chooses
FILL US WITH LIFE

God of the elements, of our inward and outward journeys
SET OUR FEET ON YOUR ROAD TODAY.

MAY GOD BLESS US WITH A SAFE JOURNEY

MAY THE ANGELS AND SAINTS TRAVEL WITH US

MAY WE LIVE THIS DAY IN JUSTICE AND JOY. AMEN.

Our Christian church camp is open to all regardless of religious affiliation
Packing is a team effort!
  •  Encourage your children to help you pack for camp.

  • If your children want to pack by themselves, be sure to go over what they're putting in there to see that they have everything they need.

TIPS FOR PACKING
  • Use the check-list, and check it twice!

  • Mark everything with your child's name (especially things that tend to look the same like flashlights and towels).

  • Bring clothing and bedding for all weather (in Michigan, just because it's 90 degrees when you pack on Sunday doesn't mean it won't get down to the 40s at night).  Pack an extra sweatshirt and warm blanket.

  •  Pack a dirty clothes bag.

  • There is space under beds for suit cases, along with a few shelves in the cabins.

  • Put outfits together. Parents of younger children may want to put an entire outfit for one day in a zip lock baggie and label it with the day of the week.

What NOT to bring to camp
Please don't bring anything that you or your parents would be upset if you lost!

Please do not bring electronics.  This is a time to "unplug." This includes smart watches or anything that will connect to the internet.
If campers need to call parents, they will be able to do so with the camp phone and the camp director present.
There are special instances where this is lifted, especially with campers who are driving themselves. Please contact the camp director to talk.

Anything that may be destructive to the camp property or to a person

  • Gum is not allowed at camp

  • Knives, guns or other weapons

  • Fireworks

  • Alcohol

  • Cigarettes, Marijuana, Tobacco

  • Any illegal drug

Please do not bring money or valuables to camp!  Money is not needed at camp.  Campers receive a camp t-shirt. The Diocese of The Great Lakes and Living Waters Ministries  are not responsible for theft, loss or damage of personal possessions.
